As a database developer, one of your major challenges is to manage version control for your database source code. Compros have developed two utilities to simplify this important task and we're offering them to you for free.

The SQL Scriptor and MS Access Scriptor are fully functional applications we use in our own database development work and we keep improving on the functionality with each release. Please contact us with your suggestions for new features so we can work on them for the next version.

SQL Server Scriptor

You can use this utility for creating file per object scripts for SQL Server database. We have improved on the built-in SQL Server Scripting by adding the following features:

objects are split into separate folders (tables, views, stored procedures, etc)
you can select objects you want to include (or exclude) from scripting
your database scripting configuration is preserved between sessions

MS Access Scriptor

There are properties that are normally treated by MS Access VSS Add-In as binary. This utility gives you more flexibility by recording these properties as clear text.

The utility works in two modes:

splits MS Access MDB file into multiple .xml files
reconstructs MS Access MDB database from the .xml files
